Guava leaves (Psidii guajavae folium; GL) are dark green, elliptical, oval, and have an obtuse apex. Guava leaves, as well as the pulp and seeds, are used to treat certain respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders, as well as to increase platelets in dengue fever patients. Guava leaves have excellent medicinal properties for treating inflammatory acne, scars, spots, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone. Guava leaves have antimicrobial properties due to active ingredients such as isoflavonoids, gallic acid, ascorbic acid, and carotenoids, which help fight skin infections and inflammations.
